I’d never thought that I would ever see the day that I would love podcasts. I would never listen to radio shows. If I ever was without my aux cord, I would only tune in on music radio stations. Other than that, there was no way you would find me listening to a radio show. Until I decided to explore the podcast world.
wHAT’S A PODCAST?
A podcast is a mix of two words: iPod and Broadcast. The word was firstly suggested by The Guardian columnist and BBC journalist Ben Hammersley in 2004. [Read more about it here]. A podcast is a series of audio files that you can download individually (or every episode) to your phone or computer and listen to it at any time and anywhere. In other words, it’s internet radio on-demand. Usually, each episode talks about certain topics and has different segments depending on the podcast you’re listening to.

wHY SHOULD YOU LISTEN TO PODCASTS?
As I previously said, you can listen to it anytime and anywhere you desire. Unlike radio shows that you need to tune in at a specific hour, podcasts adjust to your schedule and you can pause it, and even listen to it again, if you want to. And, unlike videos, you can hear a podcast while you’re doing other stuff instead of gluing your eyes to a phone. Although there are podcasts that are broadcasted on video platforms, you get what I’m saying, that you can be productive and still listen to a podcast at the same time.
I have the worst attention span when it comes to listening without any visuals. However, the longer I’ve listened to podcasts, the quicker I’ve realized that I focus more on certain topics that are up to my interest. Podcasts that I love to tune in are about meditation, business, and lifestyle. However, I’ve become particularly more involved with female-hosted podcast. Not only they are fun to listen to but also I’ve felt more inspired after listening to the following 5 podcasts.
Here are 5 girl boss podcasts you should DEFINITELY need to listen:
what she said – Jaci Mari and Chelsea jade
I love this podcast because this makes me feel as if I’m part of their conversation. If you wanna know what I’m talking about, listen to their episode: Unpopular Opinions and Best and Worst Travel Experience: France Recap. You’ll find yourself nodding and smiling to yourself! These two best friends, Jaci Marie and Chelsey Jade talk about business, health, relationships, and travel. Often they interview bloggers and friends and talk about specific topics such as dating advice, productivity, motivation, etc.
The Influencer Podcast by julie solomon
This is THE best podcast to get the latest inside scoop and tactics to become an influencer. Julie Solomon invites guests to her show and they talk about the experience of x blogger’s career, failures, success stories, etc. The length of her episodes varies so if you want something quick and easy to listen to, she has you covered. Fave episode, you ask? Human Connection & Major Insta Growth with Quigley. Quigley is one of my favorite all-times bloggers on Instagram and hearing her talk about the road to her passion made me feel so inspired. It’s a pretty long episode but if you have the time to listen to it, I can assure you, it will leave you wanting to hustle more than ever.
she podcast by jordan lee dooley
If you’re looking for a podcast that leaves you inspired to get out of your comfort zone and accomplish your goals, She Podcast is the right way to go. Every episode feels like I’m sitting down with a best friend who’s coaching me through life and cares for my wellbeing. She mostly talks about topics like personal development and relatable life crisis things we go through but not necessarily talk about often. My favorite episodes have to be How to Find Your Passion and What to Do When You Feel Stuck in a Job You Don’t Love. Come invited, leave ignited!
Behind the feed by Josie SANDERS
I absolutely love it when influencers share their experiences about their content creating careers! Josie Sanders is one of my TOP 5 favorite bloggers on Instagram. She touches on topics like mental health, pursuing your passion, business within content creating, etc. My favorite episode so far is How to Get Over Your Creative Block. This episode made me realize that I’m not alone in this content-creating journey and even successful influencers get uninspired from time to time. People who want to make a career out of content creating should listen to this podcast.
Small Doses by Amanda Seales
This was the first podcast I listened to and I immediately fell in love with it! Amanda talks about interesting topics such as cancel culture, self-care, fame, social media, etc. My favorite episode is Side Effects of Social Media. She has been the only one that has accurately described how I viewed and felt about Instagram. It definitely changed my perspective about social media. Not only this podcast is super entertaining and makes you laugh but it’s also educational! You have the best of both worlds.
Are you already feeling inspired by the podcast episodes I handpicked myself? What are podcasts do you recommend? Let me know in the comments or slide in the Dm’s on my IG so we can chat about them. Happy listening.
